Bab girl loves to use the computer like dad.

My baby girl loves to use the computer. I missed her climbing into the chair & getting the screen saver to turn off but this is still cute.

Parking lot made out of glass, water runs through it not over it.

My father put down a concrete/asphalt alternative paving at his new office building. This is made out of recycled glass bottles, tumbled to soften the edges, and then mixed with some resin and polymers to bind it. There are 4 things that make this a better alternative to porous concrete or asphalt:

  1. 100% recycled glass.
  2. Over twice as porous as the porous asphalt and concrete products.
  3. The bonding agents absorb toxins as the water passes through so it’s actually cleaner coming out. Super Green!
  4. Looks a lot better and comes in 5 colors.

This glass paving is about as green as you can get when it comes to paving a parking lot. It has been tested in cold northern climates and stands up to the cold. It is malleable so it doesn’t crack and can be easily manipulated and repaired in the future.

Water runoff is a big problem. It creates major erosion problems, large stagnant puddles, and rivers in our streets. It also washes a lot of dirt and oils into our ecosystem. Porous paving reduces these problems by helping the ground to absorb the water as it comes down instead of pushing it off to the side. If you would like to know more about the recycled glass paving alternative to porous concrete or asphalt let me know. Happy to answer questions and help =)
